It all started on an ordinary day at the power plant. Homer and Carl were waiting for Lenny to arrive for work, and to pass the time, they decided to sing. Suddenly, an alarm began to blare, leaving the duo perplexed. Unbeknownst to them, the Darkness, also referred to as the Pibby Glitch corruption, had already infiltrated the facility. The Darkness managed to partially corrupt Carl Carlson from behind, catching him off guard. Realizing what had happened, Carl warned Homer to escape before the corruption fully took hold of him. Fearful, Homer sprinted down the long hallway toward the exit, desperate to evade the encroaching darkness. However, the Darkness succeeded in corrupting Carl, who then pursued Homer in his altered state, intent on spreading the corruption further. As Carl reminded Homer of their shared memories, the painful recollections of their friendship weighed heavily on Homer. Despite his efforts to flee, Corrupted Carl gradually increased his speed, ultimately catching up to Homer and partially corrupting him as well. Overwhelmed, Homer found himself kneeling on the ground, losing control of his body. He glanced back at Carl, whose face was now devoid of emotion, eyes filled with black sludge that dripped from his features. In that moment, Homer succumbed to the darkness, becoming another victim of the corruption. The Darkness continued its search throughout the power plant, now setting its sights on Mr. Burns's office to find and corrupt him next.
